You can tell that this vape pen is different just by looking at it, the glass section on the top third of the unit makes it look like a big oil vaporizer instead of a vape pen at first. That’s because the Plasma doesn’t look like any vape pen you’ve ever seen, there’s no visible coil and the bowl isn’t your usual ceramic dish.

Instead, you’ve got this quartz bowl that plugs directly into the battery and you can’t even see the heating element. Once you know how it works, you realize that it’s a pretty simple, intuitive design. Loading takes seconds and the whole thing is easy to disassemble and reassemble.

It’s pretty portable too, it easily fits into any pocket or purse, though you need to be careful about keeping the mouthpiece clean since it sticks out. It’s a handsome looking device, with an elegant, understated look that will allow you to vape in peace if you don’t want any attention.

How to Use the HoneyStick Plasma GQ

1. With the device turned off, remove the glass piece and mouthpiece from the rest of the Plasma.
2. Dab your extract into the quartz bowl and then replace the glass piece & mouthpiece.
3. Press the power button 5x to turn on the device, press the power button 3x to toggle between the two preset temperatures.
4. Hold down the power button for a few seconds to start heating, continue pressing the power button while inhaling from the mouthpiece.

Performance and Vapor Quality of the HoneyStick Plasma GQ

I was expecting great flavor because of the quartz bowl and its lack of contact with the heating element, and that’s exactly what I got. This is some of the purest flavor I have ever experienced with a vape pen, it really is close to an e-nail in terms of purity.

Even with high quality quartz-titanium coils, sometimes, a little of the titanium flavor comes through. That’s not the case here since the neutral quartz material keeps the flavor pure. Those super high temperatures might have some of you worried that the flavor might be too hot and harsh since there’s no water bubbler to cool down the vapor.

No need to worry, there’s an initial blast of heat that converts your extracts into vapor super fast, then the heat cools down and allows you to vape safely. As long as you don’t start vaping during that initial heat blast, you’ll be fine. That said, I would advise newcomers to start on the lower temperature setting first.

Since the bowl is made of quartz, it’s pretty easy to clean using the included alcohol tips. Once they’re used up, you can buy your own tips and dip them in isopropyl alcohol to keep the bowl and glass piece clean. The heater lasts a long time but will eventually need replacing, you can get replacements from HoneyStick for $19.95 apiece. The battery charges in a few hours but lasts for a day full of flavorful vaping.
