Review Summary

4.6/5

The Wireless One Hit Wonder V2 (WOHW V2) stands out as an incredible value in the all-in-one wireless ball vape category, built by Crossing Tech and featuring an upgraded heater and improved chamber over its predecessor. The core of this robust system is the Heating Wand—a Stainless Steel chamber with a wooden handle which is densely packed with 280 3mm Ruby Balls that function as thermal mass for heat retention. The kit is comprehensive, including the Matrix Titanium bowl with a stainless screen and both 14mm and 18mm glass adapters. Powering the setup is a precise PID controller, and the whole system docks securely in a large aluminum block. The primary trade-off, acknowledged by its name, is that the wireless nature means heat decays quickly without an attached source, making it optimized for “one-hit extractions” where the quick, massive power is most impactful. Despite this, its durability, flexibility, and robust performance solidify its position as an exceptional choice around the $300 price point.

Pros

  • Excellent for one (or two) hit extractions
  • Good price/performance ratio
  • Advanced PID, powerful heater
  • Flexible- injector/diffuser style use

Cons

  • Wireless design means heat fades away
  • Requires a bubbler, desktop station

Background

The Wireless One Hit Wonder V2 is an upgraded version of the super popular all-in-one ball vape kit made by Crossing Tech. With the V2, it’s gotten a better heater, and an improved chamber. The PID and the Metrix bowl stayed the same. In this review, I’ll look at the design, performance, and overall value to help you decide if this wireless approach to ball vapes is right for you.

The WOHW V2 retails for $330, but VGEAR.COM has a sale for $299 and you can use my coupon code VG10 for an extra 10% off and a final price of $270. Amazing value.

Design

That said, let’s talk about the One Hit Wonder V2 and what's included in the kit.

Heating Wand

First off, is the One Hit Wonder injector itself. It’s basically a Stainless Steel chamber with a wooden handle, filled with 280 3mm Ruby Balls that act as a thermal mass to store and retain heat. It has a wide opening at the bottom, and a narrow opening on top, both sides can be used for extraction, but more on that later.

Matrix Bowl

Then there’s the Matrix Titanium bowl, which has a stainless screen, and that’s where the herb goes. The Metrix bowl comes with a 14mm glass adapter installed, and there is an 18mm adapter in the kit as well.

PID Controller

Next is the PID controller- the main control unit of this heater. It plugs into a standard wall outlet and is responsible for powering the heating element and precisely regulating its temperature. “PID” stands for Proportional-Integral-Derivative, which refers to the algorithm, or the feedback loop, it uses to maintain a stable and accurate temperature.

Aluminum Docking Station

This large aluminum block is the docking station for the whole setup. It can be secured to the PID controller with two included rubber bands and it has a gap to fit the cord of the heater. , which is installed in its own compartment, and is plugged into the PID. There is also a cleaning brush, herb scoop, and some replacement screens.

Chugga Bubbler

So the only thing not included in the kit but is needed to get started is a bubbler. I recommend this Chugga 2.0 Bubbler- It’s made by the same company that makes the One Hit Wonder and the Ruby Twist. It has a big base so it won’t tip over, and it’s just super convenient to use with ball vapes.

The Chuggah is available from VGEAR and they even sell it as a discounted bundle with the WOHW V2.

Usage

Ok so, if you’re new to ball vapes, here is a quick explanation on how they work.

I’ll place my injector in the heater, and turn the PID on. I’ll set my temp, 600°F is a good place to start, and the thing starts heating up. The spiral coil is heating up and transferring that heat to the chamber, and then to the balls- via conduction- meaning direct contact.

Meanwhile, the bowl goes on the bubbler. The herb goes in the bowl.

Now, I like to wait around five minutes after the heater reaches its temp, to let the heat soak and build up in the system. Then, the wand (with the now- extremely hot Rubies) is removed from the heater and placed on the bowl.

With each inhale, cold air comes in through the top, weaving through the densely packaged rubies– getting super hot. The result is a jet of hot air that comes in from the injector and into the bowl, creating pure convection heat with very distinctive, full, thick, flavorful vapor- that cools down as it goes through the bubbler.

Usage tips

It’s worth mentioning a couple of things here. To get even more heat to soak into the system, I can place my bowl on the injector as it warms up, prior to filling it with herb. Heat transfers into the Titanium bowl and it is pre-heated before it’s placed on the bubbler, for an even denser hit.

Also, the wand can be used as an injector, so the narrow part goes into the bowl. Or as a diffuser, so the thicker part fits around the bowl. The latter will be “stronger” as it brings the rubies, which are the heat source, closer to the herb.

Performance

There are many ways to use this vape.  And it does perform very well in all its modes and configurations. It’s amazing how much heat it retains and how well it works. It produces thick milky vapor, and since the air path is completely neutral- the flavor is top notch. There is only Stainless, Titanium, the Rubies, and glass in the airpath. Zero contaminates, so every subtle terp is fully there, with every hit.

WOHW V2 vs. Ruby Twist Pro: A Quick Comparison

The choice between the Wireless One Hit Wonder V2 (WOHW V2) and the Ruby Twist Pro largely comes down to your preferred session style and budget, as both are made by the same company and offer an exceptionally clean airpath. The Ruby Twist Pro is the more budget-friendly option, retailing significantly lower (around $179-230) compared to the WOHW V2 (around $270-330). The major functional difference is the power supply: the Ruby Twist Pro is a tethered system, featuring the heating element directly on the Wand, which connects to the PID controller via a cable for a constant supply of power to keep the heat engaged. This makes the Ruby Twist Pro more versatile and efficient for multi-hit sessions (2-4 draws).

In contrast, the WOHW V2 is a wireless system; its wand is heated in a separate aluminum docking station before being placed on the bowl. While this offers freedom from a cable during use, the heat source is detached, causing the heat to decay and fade relatively quickly. This makes the WOHW V2 optimally designed for powerful, single-hit extractions, which aligns with its name. Furthermore, the WOHW V2 has a larger thermal mass, packed with 280 3mm Ruby Balls in a Stainless Steel chamber, compared to the Ruby Twist Pro's 155 2.5mm Ruby Balls in a Titanium chamber. Both models are highly rated for vapor quality and durability, but if you prioritize multi-hit versatility, the Ruby Twist Pro is the better choice, while the WOHW V2 is king for powerful, immediate one-hit extractions.

Drawbacks

Other than the typical downsides associated with all ball vapes setups like size, complexity, and lack of portability, the main downside of the One Hit Wonder, is that since it doesn’t have an “attached” heat source, the heat will decay fairly quickly so the second hit may lack some punch. The Ruby Twist for example- has the heating coil wrapped around the Titanium chamber, so heat can be applied also while the wand is on the bubbler and during use. I have a separate review of the Ruby Twist, I’ll link it below.

This is obviously not an issue for one-hit extractions, as you don’t really need that second round of heat. And let’s be fair- the thing is called- the “Wireless One Hit Wonder” so that’s kind of what it's made for. Still- I wish it had a “wired” mode.

Bottom line

Bottom line, the One Hit Wonder is a powerhouse. The large heater is quick and robust, I love the flexibility of being able to switch between diffuser and injector- even in the same session as the Matrix bowl is compatible with both, and everything here is durable and made to last. It’s probably the best ball vapes you can get for around the $300 mark.
