Arizer Solo 2 MAX VS. Solo 2

Overview

Today, we have a comparison of the new Arizer Solo 2 MAX to its predecessor- the Arizer Solo 2. The vapes are more similar than different, and there are only minor updates between the models. In this comparison, we'll look at the similarities and differences of these two vapes.

Similarities

  • Heating System (convection/conduction): Both vapes feature the same hybrid heating system, which is mostly convection but also radiates some conduction heat from the chamber's walls. The heating system seems to be more robust, but there is no confirmation from Arizer about this.
  • Glass Stems (cross-compatible): Both vapes use Arizer's signature glass stems, which are cross-compatible between the devices.
  • Temp range (122-428F° / 50-220°C): Both vapes have the same wide range of temps, allowing a “full-spectrum” experience when it comes to terpenes and flavors. Both vapes also allow precise +/- temp adjustments.
  • Oven size (0.2-0.3gr): Both vapes have the same oven capacity. Arizers are known to be very effective and deliver a potent experience, considering the amount you use.
  • Battery life: Both Solos have a dual-cell 18650 battery with a runtime of ~170 minutes.
  • Size & Shape: Both vapes weigh the same (210gr) and are the same exact size.
  • Heat-up time: Both vapes heat up in around 30 seconds.

Differences

USB-C charger: One of the biggest upgrades of the Solo MAX over the Solo 2 is the updated USB-C charging plug. USB-C offers a lot more flexibility, and finally, I can ditch the old-school DC charger, which I can't stand (especially to travel with).

Simplified Kit: The old Solo included in the kit: 2 glass stems (long/short), an aroma dish, and a carry case. The new one doesn't include any of these except for the long glass mouthpiece, plus it adds a 14mm glass pipe adapter.

Interface changes: There are minor changes that include-

  • Change the range of the startup countdown from 4-8 seconds to 2-8 seconds.
  • The display of the Solo MAX flips automatically when the unit is inverted and connected to a water bubbler.
  • A new option for Dark Mode, which dims the display, has been added.

Should you upgrade?

If you already own a Solo 2 that works great and has no issues, there is no need to upgrade. If you were on the fence about getting one, this is the best time to pull the trigger. Use my coupon codes above- I have a 20% coupon, so that's over $50 in savings directly from Arizer.

The Solo 2 has always been one of my favorite vapes and one of the best herb vaporizers available.
