Overview

Today, we have a comparison of both Arizer portables- the Air MAX and the newly released Solo 2 MAX. The vapes are more similar than different, and both feature Arizer's signature glass stem system, making them the easiest vapes to use and handle.

Since the vapes are so similar, you may be wondering which Arizer vape is best for your needs. And the answer to that depends on your personal usage style. In this comparison, we'll look at the similarities and differences of these two vapes.

Similarities: Air MAX vs. Solo MAX

Heating System (70% convection / 30% conduction): Both vapes feature the same hybrid heating system, which is mostly convection but also radiates some conduction heat from the chamber's walls. Arizer's heating system is very efficient and achieves a complete extraction consistently.

Glass Stems (cross-compatible): Both vapes use Arizer's signature glass stem system. The herb is loaded into a little cup in the glass mouthpiece and is then inserted into the chamber. This makes these vapes very easy to use and has the lowest maintenance requirements of any vape out there. The glass stems are cross-compatible between the devices.

Temp range (122-428F° / 50-220°C): Both vapes have the same wide range of temps, allowing a “full-spectrum” experience when it comes to terpenes and flavors. Both vapes also allow precise +/- temp adjustments.

Oven size (0.2-0.3gr): Both vapes have a very convenient oven size, which is perfect for solo sessions. Arizers are known to be very effective and deliver a potent experience, considering the amount you use.

USB-C charger: One of the biggest upgrades of the Solo MAX over the Solo 2 is the updated USB-C charging plug. USB-C offers a lot more flexibility, and finally, both of these vapes use it.

WPA Compatible: Both come with the pipe adapter and have an inverted display feature, which allows you to use them with water pipes and bubblers. Using a bubbler will improve the vapor quality, and many users use them regularly.

Differences: Air MAX vs. Solo MAX

Pricing: The Solo 2 MAX retails for $270, while the Air MAX is $220. Reminder: I have a 20% coupon for arizer.com listed above.

Size & weight: Solo MAX weighs 210gr, and the Air MAX comes in at 160gr. The Solo 2 also has a larger footprint.

Battery life: The Solo 2 has a dual-cell 18650 battery with a runtime of ~170 minutes, vs. the Air MAX, which lasts 120 minutes with a single 26650 battery. Both vapes charge from empty to full in 2-3 hours and can be used while connected to the charger.

Battery type: Solo has an internal battery, while the Air MAX features a replaceable one. This is one of the most significant differences between the vapes- if you go off the grid, like camping or something, and need to charge extra batteries and take them with you, the Air MAX will allow you to do that. The Solo has a fixed battery that is not replaceable by the user.

Heat-up time: A bigger battery means more power and the Solo heats up in under 30 seconds, which is twice as fast as the Air MAX.

Which one should you get?

If you're the type that vapes mostly at home and don't mind the larger size, easily go for the Solo MAX. It heats up faster, gets less hot during use, has a better battery life, and is just a more robust unit.

If you prioritize portability, the Air MAX may be the right option. It is smaller and more discreet, plus the replaceable battery means that you can purchase extra and stay unplugged for longer periods.

Both vapes are some of the best options available in 2024, provide very tasty vapor, and are super easy to use and maintain.
