Review Summary

4.3/5

The Linx Blaze is a straightforward and simple vape that provides great vapor quality for its price. It features interchangeable coils (Quartz and Ceramic), a glass mouthpiece, four temp settings- all optimized to produce clean and delicious vapor. Overall, the Linx Blaze is capable of satisfying vapers who prioritize discretion and vapor flavor.

Background

Linx Blaze Wax Pen

The Linx Blaze was released in early 2019 and has been one of the top-rated dab pens around. The Blaze is similar to the Hypnos Zero but has a more refined and sturdier look. It features interchangeable coils (Quartz & Ceramic Coil), four variable voltage settings, and a glass mouthpiece to keep the vapor clean and pure. It has an intuitive single-button interface, so beginners won't have a problem using this wax pen.

The Blaze is compatible with THC/CBD solid extracts and 510-threaded oil carts. In this review, I've used CBD dab from Steve's Goods and from In-Hemp, which is available to ship anywhere in the US. The Blaze retails from Linx Vapor (Visit Website) for $135, which falls in the line of mid-quality vapes, so let's see how it performs better than the rest in the complete review.

Kit & Accessories

linx blaze kit
The kit of the blaze includes a quartz atomizer, ceramic atomizer, the Linx Blaze battery, a USB charging cable, dab tool, and a carrying case in which to put them.

The Blaze comes in a nice carrying case, which protects and contains the following:

  • Linx Blaze – The Linx Blaze has two color varieties, which are the Onyx Black and Steel.
  • Glass Mouthpiece & Magnetic Cover – The glass mouthpiece is made from borosilicate, which has high heat resistance but still fragile, so the magnetic cover comes in handy when not in use.
  • Ace (Quartz) atomizer – Quartz atomizer lasts a long time and heats up faster than the Ceramic atomizer.
  • Zero (Ceramic) atomizer – The ceramic atomizer is the standard coil-less type you see in many different vape pens. It produces flavorful vapor and heats the wax slowly than the Quartz.
  • Dab tool
  • USB charging cable

Design & Features

linx blaze

The Blaze looks thicker than most vape pens and stands at about four inches tall. It resembles the tough-looking design of Utillian 5 (Review) yet in a natural stainless steel body. The stainless steel body feels comfortable in my hand and can be easily concealed with a closed fist when vaping. Plus, the body looks good in a classy, simple way that isn't too flashy, though the Linx logo at the base is a nice touch.

The button on the middle of the base is used to activate the device and pick any of the four voltage settings. The battery packs 950mAh power, and it has a micro-USB port at the bottom. As a whole, the Blaze is well-crafted, and each part is sturdy except with the glass mouthpiece.

Mouthpiece

Linx Blaze Glass Mouthpiece

As I've mentioned above, the mouthpiece is made from borosilicate glass. This is the standard for most vapes with glass mouthpiece since it's more resistant to thermal shock and is compatible with high temp vaping compared to standard tempered glass. Though it may seem fragile, it greatly affects the vapor's purity and flavor since it's a neutral material.

You don't also need to worry about bringing the Blaze with you since a magnetic cover cap protects it. Plus, it has a spare glass mouthpiece included in the kit, which comes in handy in the most needed situation (especially if you dropped the mouthpiece while loading).

Interchangeable Coils

linx blaze performance

The Blaze features interchangeable coils: the Ace (Quartz) and Zero (Ceramic). These types of coils are famous for providing good-tasting and pure vapor, and both atomizers also have four airflow holes for free-flowing inhales and minimize leaks and clogging.

The atomizers are also connected via 510-thread, which means the Blaze can also be used as a vape pen for oil carts like the Jetty CBD or Dr. Dabber CBD. Yes, the interchangeable coils is a useful feature since it adds a little versatility to the device. Still, I think it could have been better if it has a ceramic atomizer for flavor and maybe a dual quartz coil for intense vapor production.

How To Use

linx blaze how to use
The wide opening of each atomizer makes the loading process very simple and quite fast.

Like most vape pens, you must fully charge the battery before using it. To use the Blaze, you need to:

  1. Connect the atomizer of your choice on the Blaze.
  2. Press the power button five times to turn it on.
  3. Unscrew the mouthpiece and dab the solid concentrate no larger than a grain of rice.
  4. Press the power button three times to pick any of the four temperature settings.
  5. Inhale from the mouthpiece while holding the power button.

Temperature Settings: The user manual didn't indicate the voltages of each temp settings. The temp settings are color indicated from lowest to highest: Blue (lowest) | Green | Yellow | Red (highest)

Auto-Shutoff Feature: The Blaze has an auto-shutoff feature that is a bone of contention around the office and will likely be the same for most vapers. If you vape and then leave it alone for a while, it automatically locks up. Since most vapes don't have this feature, it is something to keep in mind. Also, it's worth noting that this feature isn't in the manual. It's something we found out when we used it.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Linx Blaze Parts

There are various ways to clean your wax vaporizer, and cleaning the Blaze is simple:

  • For the mouthpiece: Remove the mouthpiece from the rest of the device and use a cotton swab soaked in isopropyl alcohol to clean the inside and outside of the glass. Soak the metal filter in iso alcohol for two hours to clean it.
  • For the Zero Ceramic Atomizer: Set the Blaze to the highest temp setting while holding it upside down to burn off any excess residue. Remove the atomizer and, with it facing down, partially submerge the atomizer in a container with isopropyl alcohol for two hours. Make sure that only the ceramic plate is submerged and not the entire atomizer. Once the time is up, allow the atomizer to air dry before reattaching it to the battery.
  • For the Ace Quartz Atomizer: Turn the Blaze upside down over a sink or with a paper towel beneath it. Turn it on and adjust it to the red setting to burn off any wax residue. Switch to the blue setting and use a q-tip or cotton swab soaked in isopropyl alcohol to clean out the atomizer. Make sure that you never soak the atomizer in alcohol.

Performance & Vapor Quality

linx blaze design
The Blaze is 510 threaded, so the atomizers can be used with different, compatible batteries.

The Quartz coil is the ideal choice for quick-start sessions since it heats up instantly rather than the Ceramic coil. On the other hand, if you want to slowly heat the wax to get most of the flavor in your dab, the Ceramic coil is recommended. Both atomizers have low draw resistance, so taking big rips is no problem at all.

As for the vapor quality, both the Quartz and Ceramic coil are optimized for flavor, with the slight edge going to the Quartz. I like to use the battery on the low-medium setting since it has the best temperature for low-temperature dabbing, and I could feel the rush of THC and taste the terps during each rip. The vapor it produces is also thin & wispy, which is a good thing if you favor discretion, but it's kind of disappointing if you want big, intense vapor.

Battery Performance: The Blaze has a 950mAh battery, which equates to about 5-7 sessions. However, the downside is that it takes between two to three hours to recharge.

Bottom Line

linx blaze vs kandypens crystal

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with using the Linx Blaze. Still, it could've done better if it has a bigger battery life, more calibrated temp settings, and a cooling system to keep the vapor cool even at the highest temp settings. This vape pen is suitable for beginners and intermediate users alike and is considered one of the best wax pens this 2024. However, I think it's a bit pricey, and you can bump your budget a little more to get the KP Crystal 2 (Review), which is currently the top-tier choice in the dabbing industry.
